A little mini, A lot of Leopard!!!

Apple couldn’t have described it better!!! The new version of the mac mini is much faster and cooler than the old one. Most people are of the opinion that the mac mini is an entry level mac not suitable for running any heavy applications such as Cubase and Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. From what I read, this was the case with the old mac mini. The new one comes fitted with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, at either 2.0 GHz or 2.4 GHz and upto 2 GB upgradeable ram. What more could I want??

Now the obvious question is why not the iMac ? Well, my budget is real tight, and I’m not really picky on my screen size and I’ll be quite happy with a 17″ monitor whereas the iMac comes with a minimum 20″ monitor. Also, the iMac has a much larger hard disk, which I really do not need at the moment. With the mac mini, I get exactly what I want with a price I’m more then willing to pay.

Some people might say, buy a laptop instead. But I don’t want to spend 10 k extra for that bit of portability that I can still achieve (to an extent) with a mac mini. Personally I don’t like the way laptops heat up so much, and the way the keys and touch pad get worn out so quickly. I don’t want to have to buy a larger screen and connect it to my laptop because a 12″ screen just won’t do.

For all these reasons and more, my first computer will be a beautiful mac mini!!!! :D
